Two companies that specialize in black and white photography for newborns are New Mexico's Kim Jew and national chain Bella Baby Photography. There are many companies that provide newborn portraits, and most photography companies can take photos in black and white.

As of 2015, some photography companies travel to the hospital to photograph newborns. Some of these include First Day Photo in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which provides recommendations on the website for how to prepare for the best newborn photos possible, and Charley's Angels, which operates in six different states and provides an option to bring a newborn in to a specialized children's studio as an alternative to hospital photography.
