What is Boko Haram?
By Forinfos - 30/10/2025 - 0 comments
Boko Haram is a militant Islamic fundamentalist group based out of Nigeria. It rejects local governmental operations and uses violent measures to promote its mission.
In the past, Boko Haram has attacked many governmental institutions, and in 2014, it claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of 276 teenage girls from a boarding school in Nigeria. In the local language, "boko haram" means, "Western education is forbidden." Boko Haram does not believe Muslims should engage in activities that are associated with Western culture, including the education of girls. The primary goal of Boko Haram is to create an Islamic state that is ruled by Sharia law so that it can be separate from outside influence.
