Also called sarcoma, bone cancer is a tumor that starts growing from the bone. Cancers that are spread from other parts to the bones are usually referred to secondary cancer.
The common symptom of bone cancer is pain that grows worse with time and can be severe during the night, as stated by National Health Service. The risk factors of bone cancer include radiation and a condition called Paget's disease. There are various types of bone cancer including osteosarcoma, chondrosarcoma, Ewing's sarcoma and spindle cell sarcoma. Treatment involves the use of surgery to remove the affected bone area and chemotherapy to shrink the tumor.
