Alex Berenson is a bestselling author who began working for The New York Times in 1999. While working there, he served two stints in Iraq as a war correspondent. It was that experience that led him to write his first novel about the fictional CIA agent John Wells, for which he won the Edgar Award. In 2010, Berenson left The Times to pursue his fiction full time.
