What is a bottom-mount refrigerator?

A bottom-mount refrigerator has the freezer at the bottom and the fridge on top. This design is ideal because it allows the user to easily see and remove items in the fridge because they are at eye level.

Bottom-mount refrigerators started to be produced in the 1950s, and they are now more common than then the traditional style with the freezer at the top and the fridge at the bottom. Many companies, such as Amana, General Electric, LG, Monogram, Viking, Whirlpool, Heartland, Samsung, Maytag, KitchenAid, Fisher & Paykel and Miele, offer bottom-mount refrigerators to customers in different styles and sizes.
