Energizer Ultimate lithium batteries have performed well in digital camera tests. Duracell Ultra Advanced is a brand of long-lasting alkaline battery. Lithium batteries are well-suited to high-drain devices, such as cameras, while alkaline batteries are better suited to slow-drain devices, such as remote controls.

A Consumer Reports test of 15 varieties of AA batteries in late 2014 found that Panasonic Digital Power batteries, while being the most expensive, came in last during testing. Energizer Advanced, a lithium battery, performed well in the testing. Highly-rated alkaline batteries include Duracell Quantum and Kirkland Signature, which is also the cheapest battery in the test.
