The breed of horse that originated in Czechoslovakia is the Kladruber. The Kladruber is a rare breed that has its origins in Kladruby in Bohemia, Czechoslovakia. It's also an older breed of horse, and the stud was founded by Rudolf II in 1579.
The original purpose of the Kladruber was to pull the imperial carriages at state events. The horse was developed from horses from northern Europe as well as Spain and Italy, with a mixture of heavy native Czech breeds. Kladruber horses are either black or gray, which laypersons call white. They stand between 16.2 and 17 hands high and have a steady and good-natured temperament.
