What is brick underpinning?
By Forinfos - 13/03/2026 - 0 comments
Brick underpinning is the process of pouring concrete and installing a hydraulic jack under a brick structure to help level the structure or close cracks in the foundation. The process begins by drilling holes along the side of an exiting foundation to pour the concrete.
Not all of the holes created in this process are completely filled in order to place the hydraulic jack for adjustment. When the foundation is lifted to the desired height, the remaining space in each hole is filled with concrete to make more secure. There are multiple methods of brick underpinning that depend on the size and type of structure being worked on.
