Why are buffers important?
By Forinfos - 07/10/2025 - 0 comments
Buffer solutions are crucial in reactions that require specific pH ranges for them to optimally work because they can resist the changes in pH. They help in neutralization reactions.
Acidic buffer solutions have weak bases and strong acids as their components, and they are mostly used to neutralize alkaline solutions. Basic or alkaline solutions have weak acids and strong alkalis. They are used to neutralize acidic aqueous solutions.
Buffer solutions also play an important role in the blood plasma within the human body. If the pH value of blood stays in either acidic or alkaline form, it could be harmful to a human.
