What is a bullfrog's habitat?

American bullfrogs live in still waters with plenty of aquatic vegetation for cover and breeding. They are native to the North American near-arctic but can be found in South America, Asia, and Europe as well due to human interference.
Bullfrogs prefer warm water and water that has been polluted in a way that encourages algae growth, such as by agricultural runoff. They can live in bodies of water as large as lakes or as shallow as bogs. They are only active during warm weather. During the winter, they bury themselves in mud and hibernate until the spring. Their ambush hunting style requires partial submission in water or mud to disguise themselves until prey comes into stroking distance.
