As of 2015, NSSC sells both new and used railway ties as well as other railway track products, and the company boasts an inventory of over 7 million railway ties.

A&K Railroad Materials has wholesale ties as well as ties earmarked for landscaping and other decorative functions, and it maintains an inventory of at least 2 million ties.

Menards, a building supply store, does not sell railway ties online, but many of its brick-and-mortar locations sell railway ties.
