When do SSI checks go out each month?

Supplemental Security Income disability payments are paid on the first of every month, unless the day is a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday. In those cases, SSI is paid the day before.

As of 2015, SSI payments are no longer sent out in check form. SSI payments are distributed via direct deposit, an electronic transfer account or the Direct Express card program, which is offered by the Social Security Administration. Social Security Disability Insurance payments are distributed each month and are dependent on the recipient's birthday. Those who receive both SSDI and SII payments receive their benefits on the third day of each month.
