Where are cabin air filters typically located?

Car owners can typically find the cabin air filter behind the glove compartment. To double check its location, an owner can review his vehicle's manual to determine the exact position. Car owners should change the cabin air filter once a year or every 12,000 miles.
Changing an air filter takes approximately 15 minutes and does not require any specialty tools. The two types of air filters for the cabin are particulate filters and particulate and odor filters. If a cabin air filter gets clogged, it can lower the performance of the air conditioning, heating and defroster and create a build-up of mold and allergens.
