Can beer be bought on Sundays in Alabama?

Some counties and cities in Alabama allow Sunday beer sales, but it is not a statewide policy. The state of Alabama as a whole does not allow Sunday beer sales, but some communities wanted 7-day beer sales to stimulate tourism economies, and local voters backed the proposals.

Alabama is one of 12 states that still upholds the blue laws set in place during the Prohibition era. Sunday beer sales are not completely banned in the state, however, as noted by the counties and cities that do allow Sunday sales. The only state that allows no Sunday beer sales whatsoever is Indiana.
