The University of Washington Press offers an edition published in 2007. As of 2015, this edition is available at its website and via Amazon.com. Charles Smith and Ian Dyck are the editors.

This title is not the actual survey but the journal William E. Logan kept while completing his 1845 survey. Editor Charles Smith, while transcribing Logan's correspondence, unearthed the journal at the McGill Archives. The journal reveals a decidedly down-to-earth, chatty Logan whose prose remain fresh and candid throughout. When confronted by women who wished to marry their daughters off to him, Logan repeatedly explained that he was "wedded to the rocks."
