Where can you find a college's EIN number?

A college's Employer Identification Number (EIN) can be found in numerous places both on and off the web. Students should make sure that when they locate an EIN, that it is for the campus where they are registered since many schools have separate EINs for each campus.

The FAFSA website allows users to search by clicking on the "School Code Search" link on the main page and entering the school's name and location in the boxes provided. A school may list their EIN in the "About" section of their website, but using a search engine typically offers quicker results. Finally, the number is also listed on W2 or 1098-T forms that the student may receive.
