The most common place to exchange currency in the United Kingdom is at designated exchange kiosks, the most popular of which, as of 2015, is Travelex. Other places to exchange money include ATMs, or banks that accept and cash traveller's cheques.

Kiosks are usually located in airports, sea ports or other places where international travel is facilitated. ATMs are located in most areas in the UK, and in general can be counted on to accept foreign credit or debit cards. ATMs allow users to withdraw money from their bank accounts in the local currency. However, each transaction may be accompanied by a foreign ATM transaction fee.
