How can you determine if metal surface is finished?
By Forinfos - 23/02/2026 - 0 comments
Finished metal surfaces are usually smooth, highly reflective, decorative and free from rust. Some of the major finishing methods include electroplating, chemical process, galvanizing and painting.
Electroplating involves submerging metal surfaces in solutions with dissolved metal ions, through the electrical reduction effect to improve exterior appearance and corrosion resistance. Galvanizing is the coating of the base metal by applying a thick coat of zinc to produce a dull silver-gray finish. The chemical process includes using chemical reactions to create thin films of oxide and sulphide on the metal surface. Painting involves spraying paint on metal surfaces to obtain a hard-colored finish.
