What can you expect when your dog is neutered?
By Forinfos - 02/03/2026 - 0 comments
A pet owner can expect a dog to be groggy when it gets home from the procedure, causing it to sleep several hours, and it may be easily agitated and have poor balance for a few hours after surgery. The incision may be slightly red and swollen right after surgery.
Right after a neutered pet returns home, it probably won't have much of an appetite and may even experience nausea. Owners should keep the pet isolated and allow it time to recover from the anesthesia. The pet should not be allowed to lick or bite the incision site, and owners can expect it to completely heal within 7 to 10 days.
