Can you freeze coconut macaroons?

Coconut macaroons can be frozen and stored in the freezer when properly wrapped. This soft and chewy dessert cookie can be frozen whether it is baked or unbaked.

To freeze baked macaroons it is important to first allow the cookies to completely cool on parchment paper or a baking rack. The cookies can then be stored in an air tight container or plastic bag and placed in the freezer. Due to the sticky nature of unbaked macaroons, it is advised they initially be placed on a baking sheet in the freezer for one hour before being stored in a bag or container.

Thaw baked macaroons on the counter and add a few additional minutes to cook when preparing the frozen unbaked cookies.
