Where can you find information on SSI disability requirements?

The Social Security Administration provides a detailed "Disability Planner" on their SSA.gov website, including the definition of "disability" and other qualifications that you must meet in order to receive SSI Disability benefits. You can only receive these benefits if you worked at jobs covered by Social Security, and if your medical condition falls under the definition of disability provided by Social Security.
These benefits are only provided until such time as you can return to work on a regular basis. If you are receiving SSI benefits when you reach retirement age, these benefits automatically convert from disability benefits to retirement benefits.
