Can kidney cysts be treated at home?

If the kidney cysts do not effect the person's life, treatment is not needed, as stated by the Mayo Clinic. If they become painful, a hospital procedure must be done.
An ultrasound may show that there are cysts present in the kidneys. If they are not painful and cause no problem with kidney function, the doctor may take a wait and see approach. There is a chance they can clear themselves up over time. If they continue to grow or cause function problems then they need to be drained or removed. If they are drained a needle is inserted to remove the fluid. They can regrow after this procedure. Very large cysts can be cut out.
