Children sail for free on all Mediterranean Shipping Company cruises, and on select trips with other cruise lines, including Disney, Crystal, Costa and Regent Seven Seas cruises, as of 2015. Typically, one or both parents are required to pay full fare to receive free kid trips.

MSC cruise line's focus is on a family-oriented atmosphere, with many features for kids that allow parents to relax and enjoy the cruise, including age-specific group activities, games, crafts, childcare and kid-friendly menus. Disney runs free travel specials on select cruises to Alaska and the Bahamas, with an entire deck just for kids. The other cruise lines have occasional free deals on select cruises.
