Where can you find a list of FSA-approved items?

FSAStore.com and Discovery Benefits provide a list of items commonly claimed against a Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Coverage varies by company, so it is important to check with individual health insurance providers to determine what is and what is not covered.

Certain medical expenses are either covered or not covered by FSA benefits. Some other medical expenses are in a gray area. Situations arise where a doctor's note stating medical necessity may be required, circumstantial criteria may be taken into account and/or a doctor's prescription may be required. Dependant Care Accounts (DCAs) and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) may provide different coverage than a Flexible Spending Account.
