Where can you find Medicaid bill codes?

Medicaid billing codes are available through CMS.gov. Use of the codes allows for uniform processing of medical claims regarding medical procedures, products, services and supplies, as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services explains.

Medicaid and Medicare programs are required to use the Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System, as Medical Billing and Coding reports. However, each state administers its own Medicaid program and has some leeway in how to interpret those codes. Medical billers in each state must be cognizant of rules specific to their state and must work under the guidelines of the nationally implemented National Correct Coding Initiative.
