Where can you find medical records online?

People may be able to find their medical records online by going to the Blue Button website and entering their health care providers into the Blue Connector tool. If their doctors are participants, patients can then use other tools on the website to access their medical records.

If a medical provider does not participate in the program, a person may access a hard copy of their records by requesting them in person. As of 2015, The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule gives patients the right to review or receive a copy of all medical records, with very few exceptions.
