How can a person do a fade haircut?

Use clippers with very three very short attachments to do a fade haircut. A fade haircut is also called a high and tight haircut.

Visually line up the crown of the head or tie a string around the crown to keep lines straight when first clipping.

Step 1: Shortest clipper setting

Use the clipper's shortest setting to shave the sides and back of the head, leaving a straight line of longer hair around the base of the crown and over the top of the head.

Step 2: Second shortest clipper setting

Shave one clipper-width off along the straight line of longer hair to blend the lengths.

Step 3: Third shortest clipper setting

Clip the remaining hair on top of the head with the third and longest setting.
