Can you play all of the old Mario games on the Nintendo Wii U?

Not all old Mario games are available on the Wii U, though many of them are playable via the Virtual Console. Old Mario games playable through this service include "Super Mario World," "Super Mario 64" and "Super Mario Sunshine."

Other Mario games available on Virtual Console include "Super Mario Kart," "Mario Tennis" and "Paper Mario." Virtual Console is a program that allows Wii U users to play older games purchased through Nintendo Network. Older gaming systems supported by Virtual Console include the Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64 and Nintendo Gamecube. Games for the Wii are also playable on the Wii U, though only through Wii game discs.
