Sears, Amazon.com, eBay and Appliance Parts Pros sell thermal fuses for Whirlpool dryers online. Appliance Parts Pros has a cross reference tool to ensure selection of the correct thermal fuse.

The thermal fuse is located behind the back access panel, mounted on the exhaust duct near the bottom of the unit. Disconnect the power by unplugging the dryer or by tripping the breaker on the home's main electrical panel. Test the fuse with a multimeter. If there is no continuity between the terminals, the fuse is bad and must be replaced. Typically two screws mount the thermal fuse to the exhaust duct.
