Tile floors can be cleaned with a natural cleaning solution made of 1/2 cup of white vinegar and 1 gallon of warm water. This mixture works particularly well due to the acidic nature of vinegar.

With a pH of 2.0, vinegar kills the vast majority of bacteria, viruses and other microbial pests. Multiple peer-reviewed studies have claimed its disinfectant properties are similarly effective as those of cleaning wipes in killing the human influenza A/H1N1 virus.

Cleaning a tile floor with a vinegar mixture begins by sweeping the floor and removing any lose dirt and debris. The floor should be mopped with the mixture and left to air dry.
