Can I use NiMH batteries in solar lights?

Nickel-metal hydride batteries can be used in solar lights. In fact, rechargeable NiMH batteries are the best batteries to use in solar lights, as of 2015. Make sure that the NiMH batteries used are 1.2 volts and have the same power as the original batteries.
An advantage of using NiMH batteries in a solar light is that they have three times the capacity of NiCd batteries, making their charge last longer. NiMH batteries are more environmentally friendly and can withstand greater temperature fluctuations than NiCd batteries. NiMH batteries are not affected if they only get a partial charge on cloudy days.
