TOMS shoes are versatile and can be handwashed or washed in a washing machine. It is important to take certain steps before simply putting them in the washing machine.

If you intend to wash your TOMS in the washing machine, remove surface dust and dirt first by using a soft bristle brush. Set the washer to the gentle cycle and only wash them on cold. Turn on the machine and wait for it to fill up halfway with water, then add a mild and gentle detergent. Add the shoes when the water is 3/4 of the way full. The best way to dry the shoes is placing them out in the sun, but they can also be put in the dryer on tumble low.
