IIHF World Junior Standings are readily available online through a number of sources, including HockeyCanada, SportsNet and The Sports Network. Standings include the records of each club in preliminary round play, points earned and scoring differential.

Five of the world's top Under-20 clubs are placed in Group A and another five are placed into Group B. The top four teams in each Group from the Preliminary round advance to the quarterfinals for a single-elimination playoff, with the two semi-final losers playing in the Bronze Medal game. The two last-place finishers in Preliminary play square off in a Relegation Round to determine which club is removed from the next year's event.
