According to Dr. David Williams, castor oil is an effective remedy for constipation when taken internally. When applied to the skin topically, it is effective in increasing the function of the immune system and supporting the thymus gland.
Topically, castor oil can be used as a castor oil pack or poultice to treat conditions including keratoses, skin inflammation, ringworm, fungal nail infections and acne, according to Dr. David Williams. When treating these topical conditions with castor oil, the oil is soaked into a towel, applied to the affected area, and left overnight. Castor oil also benefits the lymphatic system, increasing the production of lymphocytes and helping to remove toxins from the body.
