Urinary bleeding, also called hematuria, is caused by several conditions, including kidney disease, kidney stones, kidney infection, urinary tract infection and kidney failure, according to MedlinePlus. Blood in the urine can be easily apparent or visible only under a microscope, and it can be a sign of serious medical condition.
Other signs of hematuria include the presence of red blood cells detected in a lab test, blood clots in the urine and discomfort with urination.
