How do you change the ink cartridge on an HP Officejet 5510?

HP OfficeJet 5510 printers are designed to allow users to easily replace used print cartridges. The process is as simple as opening the print cartridge door, removing the used cartridge and inserting the new one.

1. Turn the printer on

   Press the power button to turn on the printer.

2. Open the door

   Lift up from the bottom of the print-carriage access door to access the area where the cartridges are. The print carriage automatically moves from the side of the printer to the middle, allowing easier access to the print cartridge.

3. Remove the cartridge

   Press down on the top of the print cartridge you want to replace. This releases it from being tightly held in place. Next, pull the cartridge toward you to remove it. Set it aside.

4. Open the new cartridge

   Remove the unused print cartridge from its packaging. Pull the pink tab to remove the tape that covers the area from which ink is dispensed.

5. Insert the new cartridge

   Push the new cartridge into place at the same location from which you removed the used cartridge. Continue to push on the cartridge until you hear it click into place.

6. Close the door

   Flip the print-carriage access door down to complete the installation.
