Is there a chart showing how much you should weigh?

As of November 2014, several websites provide a chart showing how much you should weigh for your height. Body mass index (BMI) calculators are also readily available online to help you determine whether you are at a healthy weight.

Two of the websites that offer height/weight charts are NHS and the Rush University Medical Center. The Rush chart from the National Institutes of Health offers normal, overweight and obese weight ranges for heights 4 foot 10 inches to 6 foot 4 inches. It also shows the approximate BMI range for these weight categories. The NHS site offers a more detailed look at height-to-weight ratios, with a graph for determining if you are underweight, at a healthy weight, overweight, obese or very obese.

Both sites, and many others, also offer BMI calculators. BMI calculators take your height and weight measurements to determine your approximate BMI and what weight category you fall into. Many also tell you how much you should weigh for comparison. The advantages of some BMI calculators is that they take into consideration other factors, including your age.
