What cheese is made backwards?

A type of cheese called Edam is the word "made" spelled backwards. The cheese is named after the city of Edam in the Netherlands where it was first produced.
Edam cheese is a round, pale, yellow semi-hard cheese, usually sold with a shiny red wax coating. The protective wax serves as a barrier to prevent mold from forming on the cheese. In the Netherlands, Edam cheese is found without wax. Smaller, young Edam cheese has a mild nutty taste, while the larger aged cheese has a saltier flavor. Edam cheese is made all over the world, but cheese marked "Edam Holland" is made exclusively in the Netherlands.
