What is China's national sport?

As of 2014, China has not formally declared a national sport, but there are a range of sports that are very popular and in which Chinese competitors tend to dominate the field. These include table tennis, mahjong, badminton and a number of martial arts such as wushu.

Though the People's Republic of China has not formally declared it as such, table tennis (or pingpong) is often regarded as China's national sport due to its high popularity and the success of Chinese table tennis competitors at the Olympic games and international competitions.

In China, basketball, football and volleyball are also very popular.
