How do you clean shoelaces?

To clean shoelaces, soak the laces in a bleach and water solution, and wash them in laundry detergent, 1/2 cup of bleach and hot water. Use a bleach solution that is safe for the color and material of your shoelaces.

1. Mix the solution

   Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of water. Mix in 3 tablespoons of bleach.

2. Place the laces in a bag

   Place the shoelaces inside of a lingerie bag, and tighten the strings.

3. Submerge the laces

   Submerge the laces in the water, and hold the bag down with a plate. Allow the laces to soak for five minutes.

4. Load the laces in the washer

   Transfer the laces to the washing machine. Add your usual laundry detergent and the same bleach.

5. Wash and dry the laces

   Run the shoelaces through a load in the washer, and allow them to air dry.
