What is a CLR cleaner?

CLR is a cleaning product designed to remove the buildup caused by calcium, lime and hard water from most surfaces. CLR does not remove rust. It is suitable for both household and industrial use.
CLR works on most nonporous surfaces within the home, including ceramic tile, shower doors, sinks, and white grout or caulk. It should not be used on fabrics, mirrors, plastic, wood or textiles. The user should always test a small hidden area for colorfastness before use. CLR, part of the EPA's Safer Choice program, contains no phosphates, ammonia or bleach. Users should not mix CLR with any other cleaning products.
