From where do cockroaches come?

Like most insects, cockroaches are born from eggs that are laid by the female cockroach. These eggs are encased in an egg case, which can be dropped by the female in a damp area or remain attached to her until they hatch.
Cockroaches tend to seek dark and damp areas to live, which attracts them to areas created by leaky pipes. They also tend to congregate around food waste and grease. These cockroaches, which are commonly found in the home, are considered pests, but not all cockroaches are created equal. Of the 4,500 different types of cockroaches, only about 1 percent are considered pests by scientists.
