What are collectible Capidimonte Figurines?

Collectible Capodimonte figurines are porcelain figurines made in Naples in the Capodimonte porcelain factory since the mid-18th century. The company created a line of soft-paste porcelain figurines with an opulent white surface that looked as if the glaze was still wet. Capodimonte copied the style of the Meissen porcelain figurines.
The granddaughter of the Meissen porcelain factory founder, and future Queen of Spain, Maria Amalia started the Capodimonte porcelain factory in 1743. Alfonso Majello inherited the company in 1867, and as of 2015, his descendants continue to make porcelain figurines such as angels, drunks, hobos and women in fancy wedding and ball gowns.
