What color is birch?

Birch wood is always a light shade, but the color varies depending on the species. White birch wood is light with a brown flame pattern near the center, yellow birch wood is light golden brown, and red birch wood looks similar to white birch but with a light red tint.

The bark of each species of birch tree is different. It can be white, grey, yellow, silver or black. Birch trees grow all over the world, but the native species varies geographically. The United Kingdom has silver birch, North America has white birch, Quebec has yellow birch and China has red birch.
