What color is periwinkle?

Periwinkle is a light, milky shade of blue, similar to cornflower blue, but with a tinge of lavender. The color is named for the periwinkle flower.

In the yard, periwinkle plants provide hardy, widespread light-purplish-blue coverage that is especially thick in shady areas. Inside the home, the color periwinkle is light enough to be considered neutral in the blue family, or the purple hues can be brought out with lighting and brighter purple accessories.
