What do you do when colors faded on your clothes in the wash?

When colors fade in the wash, remove the fading article, and rewash the stained items. It is best not to dry the load. Even if you did run the load in the dryer, unwanted staining may still be reversible.

Rewash the stained load with your regular detergent and an oxygen-based, non-chlorine bleach or a cup of white distilled vinegar. If you dried the load, soak stained items in a mixture of cool water and oxygen-based bleach for about eight hours. If the stains disappear, rewash the load as you normally would. If not, mix another batch of cool water and oxygen-based bleach, and soak them for an additional eight hours.
