The most common Roman Catholic prayers are those spoken during the Order of Mass, including the Confiteor, Gloria, the Nicene Creed and Our Father. Other prayers recited during Mass may change according to the rites performed or the time of year.
The Order of Mass of the Roman Catholic Church has a basic structure of four parts: the Introductory rites, the Liturgy of the Word, the Liturgy of the Eucharist, and the Concluding rite. The priest celebrating the Mass chooses the prayers recited and facilitates any specific rites added to the regular schedule, including Baptismal rites or prayers spoken during the Nativity of the Lord, Epiphany, Easter or the Ascension.
