What is constructive criticism?

Constructive criticism is a form of evaluation that offers both positive and negative feedback. It needs to be valid, useful, and not designed to hurt intentionally or put down anyone or anything. Constructive criticism is often used to help improve the final outcome of a project.

Although constructive criticism can be used in an any environment, it is regularly used in educational settings. Peers review each other's creations, such as essays and artwork, and share thoughts, opinions and ideas to make the piece better. Constructive criticism should always focus on the work in question, never on the person who created it.
