The Social Security Administration office may be contacted by telephone, email or postal mail. Representatives are available during office hours, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Calls to Social Security Administration are handled through an automated telephone system that is available 24 hours a day. Both the national, and local offices, are able to assist with questions about Social Security and Medicare, but some administrative tasks are handled locally.
New and replacement Social Security cards, supplemental Social Security benefits, and survivor benefits, are all handled through field offices. Most other transactions can be done through an online account called "My Social Security."
