What is contained on a map of Tennessee?

Most maps of Tennessee include large cities, major highways and major bodies of water. However, all maps are different, and some maps have a specific purpose or focus.

Maps with a more generalized purpose contain information such as the location of the capital, Nashville, and other large cities such as Memphis, Knoxville, Johnson City and Chattanooga. Major highways, such as I-40 and I-75, also frequently show up on maps of Tennessee. Depending on the purpose of the map, it may or may not display other features, such as rivers or state parks. Examples of specialized maps include topography, population density and wildlife management maps.
